CALL TO ACTION – NEEDED BEFORE MAY 19, 2021 – CRITICAL RACE THEORY

News Worthy

The Maryland Federation of Republican Women is calling on the community to oppose a Biden Administration proposed “Rule” to incorporate Critical Race Theory into history and civics curriculum in public schools.  They will bribe schools to adopt this racist pedagogy via grant funding.

As we all know Frederick County Public Schools has rarely said no to public funding even if it means robbing your children of an education of value to them.

This proposed Rule was published in the Federal Register on April 19th.  We only have until May 19th to post comments against this Rule.

You cannot send an e-mail or fax.  You must either send a comment in writing by way of U.S. Postal service or comment on-line via the Federal eRulemaking Portal at www.regulations.gov.

Be sure to Include the docket number:  Docket ID ED-2021-OESE-0033 at the top of your comments.  Click here to see the Rule – Proposed Priorities – American History and Civics Education.

This issue came the MFRW’s attention in the Thursday April 22, 2021 Washington Times – “Biden proposes grants to teach critical race theory—Funding also supports inaccurate 1619 Project”.   The MFRW urges you to “read the article and “oppose” critical race theory’s one-sided approaches to teaching American history and civics.”

From the MFRW:

“The Biden Administration is proposing grants to develop Presidential Academies for the teaching of American History and Civics for teachers and Congressional Academies for high school students to “better understand these issues”.  The stated purpose of this program is to promote new and existing evidence-based strategies to encourage INNOVATIVE American history, civics and government, and geography instruction, learning strategies, activities, and programs for teachers, principals, or other school leaders, particularly such instruction, etc. that benefit low-income students and underserved populations.”

This proposed program is to develop history in accord with the New York Times 1619 Project and to incorporate anti-racist practices into teaching and learning.  The rule specifically refers to Ibram X. Kendi’s teachings. Professor Kendi is a pioneer in critical race theory according to the Washington Times article. Once developed it is highly-likely that the Biden Administration will impose it on all schools as required curriculum.

The Federal Register states that the Proposed Priority 1 – for evaluating projects is:  Projects that incorporate racially, ethnically, culturally, and linquistically-diverse perspectives into teaching and learning.  These practices are to contribute to what is called an “identity-safe” learning environment.
